Zazueta Tree Specialists

Bay Area Tree Specialists

When you need a Bay Area tree specialist, who are you going to call?

Naturally, we’d love for you to choose Zazueta next time you want help. But no matter who you select, there are real differences. What does it take to become a real expert in Bay Area trees?

When You Want a Bay Area Tree Specialist, Look for a Certified Arborist Who Knows the Terrain

At Zazueta Tree Specialists, our family business has decades of history with allied trades like landscaping. But a true arborist is a specialist with knowledge that most landscapers don’t typically have. The average contractor may know how to trim a tree, but do they know how to tailor that approach to every native tree so it can flourish?

A certified arborist like Carlos Zazueta is someone who has taken the next step in tree expertise. Certification means going deeper so there’s no challenge or question related to Bay Area trees that you can’t answer (and when you don’t know the answer, you know where to look to find it.)

One organization that offers the Certified Arborist credential is the International Society of Arboriculture. This respected group represents excellence in the field of caring for trees. Arbor means “tree,” and culture refers to growing – so a Certified Arborist needs to know just about everything to do with growing trees!

How Does Someone Become a Certified Arborist?

While anyone can say they’re an arborist, a Certified Arborist is very different. A professional needs to verify deep knowledge about trees and skills in their care before making that claim. Let’s look at the ISA’s Certified Arborist credential as an example to see what it all means.

To apply for certification, a candidate needs to have at least three years of full-time experience in the field of arboriculture or a combination of education and full-time experience that adds up to three years. That works out to nearly 5,400 hours. Then, they become eligible for one of the toughest examinations in the tree world.

With 200 multiple-choice questions and just 210 minutes to complete them, there’s not much time to think – to pass, an arborist needs to know the information backward and forward. There are ten areas of competency to prove along the way, including tree biology, tree selection, soil management, pruning, diagnosis, and tree risk.

Once that’s done, the story isn’t over! Certified Arborists need to maintain their skills and keep their insights up to date. All Certified Arborists must recertify after three years, so continuing education is the key to success.

Why It Matters to Select a Certified Bay Area Tree Specialist

When you make an investment in your trees, you want them to last for decades, or even centuries.

The best way to do that is to choose a Bay Area tree specialist with the highest level of certification.

Here’s the difference:

Tree Planting

With Carlos Zazueta at the helm, Zazueta Tree Specialists has strong relationships with California’s best tree farms. This allows us to select, source, and plant beautiful native trees that will meet the goals of any project.

Tree Trimming

Tree trimming should be customized to a tree’s species and life cycle. Done right, tree trimming optimizes the process of converting sunlight into energy, so a tree will not only look great but be more healthy and robust.

Tree Removal
